Fort Leonard Wood, which covers more than 62,000 acres, is located in the central Missouri Ozarks, two hours west of St. Louis and a little more than an hour east of Springfield, Missouri.  It is home to more than 11,000 service members in initial entry training on any given day. 

The Fort graduates more than 60,000 soldiers from initial training, 3,000 advanced leadership skills students, and 1,000 advanced course students annually. The U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center (MANSCEN) located on Fort Leonard Wood is responsible for the training of all Army chemical, engineer, military police and transportation soldiers; plus Marines, Airmen, Sailors and international students from allied nations. 

The Fort is also home to more than 3,000 support personnel assigned to the Garrison Command, and an Air Force training detachment with 100 faculty and staff responsible for providing apprentice and advanced level pavements and equipment, readiness, engineering, vehicle operations and security forces training for a daily average of 250 Air Force students.

Upon award, AFSS will provide high quality, low risk facility maintenance and support services at Fort Leonard Wood and Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA), Missouri.  Our services will include providing maintenance and repair of buildings and other facilities, operations, maintenance, and repair of water treatment and wastewater treatment plants, maintenance and repair of utility plants and systems, mechanical, electrical, structural repairs and maintenance, grounds maintenance, railroad maintenance and repair, operations of a self-help facility, hospital facility maintenance, MANSCEN maintenance and support, fuel handling, environmental services, fire protection support, and pest control services.
